The QuaD2 approach stands for Quality Driven Design of any Web based measurement services and was introduced by Dr. Martin Kunz and Dr. Steffen Mencke (see Kunz, M.: Framework for a Service-oriented Measurement Infrastructure. Shaker Verlag, 2010, 190 S., ISBN 978-3-8322-9051-1).

The  general QuaD2 framework  can easily be adapted to a lot of different fields of application, e.g. service oriented architectures or enterprise application integration. The basic idea is a process model and importance-ranked quality attributes that supports the quality evaluation (and component/service selection) in an ad hoc manner. The following general schema shows the QuaD2 application for Web services.

As an essential kernel architecture was motivated the service-based measurement process using the ISO 15939 processes and components as shown in the following figure.
