The Cache Performance Factor approach (CPF) was developed in a master thesis by Steve Taggeselle (Taggeselle: Konzeption und Entwicklung eines Persistenz-Layers zur Anfrageoptimierung in service-orientierten Cloud-Applikationen (DASMA-Preisträger), University of Magdeburg, 2012). The considered tecnology is the Windows Azure based Cloud Computing. The approach was based on any analysis about the initial CPF versus the cache hit rate (CHR) in Windows Azure applications as shown in the following figure.

Based on these investigations a general test infarstructure was defined based on the following test classes hierarchy.

The CPF test process is based on the following activities description during such a CPF test of Windows Azure applications as Cloud computing solutions.

Based on these measurement results was created a hybrid cache storage framework that leads to some of the following measurement results and - finally - of cache performance improvement for Windows Azure Cloud applications.
